Recommendations

Considering that my recommendations portion of the blog consists of absolutely no description seems like it serves no purpose whatsoever. To serve as the cure, I will be posting descriptions to those albums that I choose to recommend. In no particular order. . .

Austere/Lyrinx - Only the Wind Remembers / Ending the Circle of Life

This is a split by two bands that I consider to be some of the best in the DSBM genre. Austere provides nothing but raw emotion, their riffs are actually unsettling, they aren't just 3 chords played over and over again but they shift and change with perfect timing. As for Lyrinx, the thing that got my attention with this band was the fact that their influences aren't restricted to Black Metal. Hints of Post-Rock have manifested in their art resulting in an emotional display of self-hatred.

Averse Sefira - Tetragrammatical Astygmata

If you know me, you know how much of an impact on my life this band has been and how much I praise this band. This album took awhile for it to grow on me just because it is in fact abstract. After listening for quite sometime I came to the conclusion that Averse Sefira's riffs in itself serve as a conduit to some sort of philosophical ideal. Their timing is absolutely fucked up yet when merged with Numerology you begin to realize so much. Rather than straying towards the traditional, melodic, 4/2, they have all their riffs spiral out of control. It's amazing, mesmerizing, captivating.

Evergrey - Recreation Day

A Power/Prog band that sounds completely unique from all the rest. You won't find any Fairy Tales and high pitched vocals here, instead you get a nice taste of depression, though, anti-religious, well thought art. The only one draw back I hate are the breakdowns. They have chug chug breakdowns yet they are in fact different. They have keyboards setting a base and once again, fucked up timing but over time, it annoys the living shit out of me. Thankfully, they are not in every song.

Finally

On behalf of lag and laziness of my providers, and a tad bit of laziness on my part, I have finally received internet. So my updates will be done in due time when I have time to update a few cds that I had purchased in the past month. Unfortunately, there may be another delay before I can utilize internet to the fullest of it's capabilities.

Internet...

Has not been obtained at my house due to the simple laziness of the phone company. They told me that a repairman would make his arrival to bring my phone lines back to health and give purpose to my computer but he failed to show up.

So here I am at Golden West College and utilizing what internet I can possibly have. Since I am on a time crunch I will give a quick overview of what has occurred in my life in the past month.

- Hours have been cut drastically leaving me unable to purchase and have my Warhammer army grow and what has been really devastating is the fact that I can't purchase any more cds until the economy gets better, quite depressing.

- On top of that, Valentine's Day being one of the many money making holidays, has managed to serve it's purpose of burning a whole through my wallet, in terms of gas, dinner, and so on.

-I have never been happier in my life, I wake up with a smile, I go to sleep with one. I guess this is the result of having affection being laid upon you and being distributed to one person.

I think that's it, the estimated time for internet being at my house once again is said to be Monday, but I am not crossing my fingers. You have no idea how punishing it is to have a computer in my room yet no internet, the purpose of the computer is obsolete. I have so much to do but nothing to execute those updates/ideas/etc. with. I'll elaborate on these once service has been given to me.
