Transformers

Today I watched Transformers at a Glendora theatre which to my surprise was practically empty. Anyways, the movie did not exceed my expectations and barely met them. The movie contains far too many Autobots and Decepticons that the movie would require a much longer time period to have them exist. It seemed that because they wanted to have some sort of connectivity, aside from the characters of course, they gave a few Decepticons mere minutes to show that they are still around and quickly killed them off. Skorponok was only in there for 30 seconds and another Decepticon for a minute of obscure shots. As for the autobots, too many were left unaccounted for. The movie contained plenty more smart ass remarks that seemed to have been half assed or cheap shots. The beginning intro was horrible, enough said. Now for the positives, Optimus Prime and Soundwave, despite his idle occupation in the movie was amazing, although the last fight could have been much more climatic. The movie seemed to aim for grandeur rather than substance, as much as I did love Transformers as a kid, I hope they cut the scale of characters down and add a story line that isn't so linear.

Frustrating

It's been quite some time since everybody has gone to the beach and even longer since we have all been biking towards it. Today marks the first day of the summer of numerous biking trips to it, but it was definitely not off to a start that would set the day despite the new faces, Joe and Bj. The first time we ever went, Don's bike was stolen, and now our bikes were faced on by numerous delays and problems. A chain detached, numerous flat tires, and past events seemed to make the day horrible.

Finally after a nearly 3 hour delay, we arrived at the beach and made our stop at PCH, despite knowing how half assed the food is there we are faced on with cravings. I was shirtless by the way and I think it is safe to say that I have never received so many stares. My boots, my shirts, my hair doesn't get as much as attention as me being topless (well my hair is in alliance with the toplessness). I guess, I really do look like a topless chick. The day went on and it was time to get in the water, we wasted too much time earlier that we couldn't waste anymore. We got into the water which I must say was colder than any of us had anticpated so time in there wasn't long. Steve was burnt which projected an illusion that he was still wearing his shirt. And John Lam created a ball out of sand, it weighed a good 3 lbs, at least.

After the beach and getting dressed, all of us went to Jamba Juice and was surprised by how many nice pairs of boobs there were. It's quite an odd site to see such a vast amount in one small area. I think my favorite fruit are Melons. The treat was quite nice, the bike trip back wasn't. Bj seemed to suffer greatly, while all of our asses were not given one break.

Death

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, has died, and I am suppose to be in a state of mourning? I don't think so, I was never a big fan of his, sure he had good songs, but for the most part, nothing that attracted me. Since he died, don't expect a rant regarding my racial stance and beliefs but this, Why is it that as soon as an artist dies, the world goes crazy and goes out to buy their albums? Considering the financially unstable lifestyle Jackson had, I'd expect people to help him out by doing more. You aren't helping him in much ways, he was suffering financially when alive and is suffering spiritually when dead. Hooray for you! If anybody has the answer to the above question I really would like to know.

Here's to Jackson's Rotten Nose

Brutal

It's been a long time since my last post and I often wonder why is that. Aside from the immense stress that life has put on me, the reasons could be endless. Primarily, I think it's just that there aren't very many people who have challenged my mind in the recent month and my mind has been sitting in the gutter.

Anyways, one thing that has crossed my mind is the term "brutal" which is often accompanying Death metal, deathcore, or anything relating to death for that matter. And of course, it is used as a joke when metal is taken to the extremes where it can easily be laughed at and seen as a farce act rather than the conduit of various ideologies, Manowar, perfect example. Brutal seems to be exclaimed when riffs that display technical proficiency erupts, drum patterns reach machine gun speed, or vocals have been put in the machine ten times to many creating a vocal tone that makes me laugh. Honestly, I don't see what pig squels, vocals that surpass the speed of the drummer, sweeps that are enough to have you air guitaring for 10 minutes, or even the medical encyclopedia of disease make people consider such music "Brutal" (with humorous implications aside of course).

Being exposed to more of the grittier, dirty, filthy, Death metal bands I saw how that was brutal. It was a display of angst, aggression, war, and all that is not seen in today's music. With lyrical themes exploring medical situations being able to relate to what a person would have heard on T.V. or something, the themes have reached an all time high. Does anybody know what Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis means without having to look it up (it's a combination of various diseases)? I would think people would write music about such horrid acts so that you can relate to it, but obviously, you are more "brutal" when you are the only one that knows what that word means it seems. It's not often that you see Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis any of those words on T.V.

Rather than having Brutal be a word of comical purposes, it should be accompanied to the bands that truly deserve it. Chaotic, fast, dirty, gritty, rabid, etc. NOT porno grind, NOT Job for a Cowboy, NOT Poppy Seed Grinder, NOT bands that have a wildlife creature as their front man either.

Absolute Brutality

Hope

Over the years, I haven't put one penny into my parent's savings fund they had created for me. And now that I need a car, the thought once again passed my mind as well as the 1K+ that I have left in it. It may not be much but it sure does toss the idea of starting the saving from scratch.

I became impatient and couldn't wait another day for my Revenge cd to come in so I decided to download it. And I must say, it is somewhat less chaotic, still messy and unorganized, after listening to it a numerous amount of times, I have to say, the structure is a big one. The drum patterns on there newest album is much more "militaristic", the guitars are actually heard, faintly, but still heard, vocals, still the same, and the whole structure of the song is spread throughout. Nothing really skillful, but aggressive, interesting, war-like it is indeed.

I couldn't find the remix of this song that I LOVED so this has to do. . .

Relieved

Being that Golden West College is in fact a college I would expect the school to do a better job in keeping grades updated. Everything seems sluggish which only makes those that are worried about their grades worry x amount. I truly lucked out this semester with passing my two classes with C's. It definitely puts everything into perspective, if you expect to be successful in these times, I'd best turn my interest towards school and although I do enjoy music and I wish to promote it, it should be left as a side major.

Onto other topics, I bought one of the 5 Cd's today and have already discussed 2 other ones, that leaves only 2 more, which will be bought at a show, that is if I even attend one. I wish I paid more attention to the warning signs rather than begin saving up for a new car when things are becoming tough. In addition, to cash being significantly low, the new Punisher artists/writers, I am not too fond of, the sarcasm is extinguished and they have half assed attempts towards them, the art veers towards a darker side but just a bit to dark and complex that you don't know what the fuck is going on. With that being said. . . I might continue the 5th series or just branch off to some other series, but chances are, being in the nascent state of Frank Castle obsession, I am going to read a bit more of these, it doesn't seem like the artists are consistent.

And for some reason. . . I've been into War Metal

Square one. . .

. . . I'm back to it. The chances of me attending the Embrace the Hate fest has been cut down to a bare minimum. Car troubles are arising once again, unfortunately, my happiness is found quite a distance away. I think it would be best for myself to begin saving up cash in order to get a new car. I better think ahead or I will be months into a possible depression and I am tired of it. So the only event I will probably be attending is the Revenge and Inquisition show, an Averse Sefira show if there is one, a trip to Vegas, or something that involves everybody getting together and drinking some beer, if it doesn't include that, please think twice. Ignorance is bliss, it is of my best interest to really save up. And for the rest of the year, I only have 5 cds in mind to get. . . FUCK!!!!! And I have already cut back a significant amount as is.

A debut by the above band is necessary!

Managarm

Instrumentals are either hit or miss, they require complexity, melody, and a nice hook to reel you in. Managarm's attempt at one isn't 100% instrumental but it will do. The random shrieks are unnecessary and a tad bit annoying, if they sounded like cries, that's a different story, but who am I to decide the direction of art. That high pitched melody that appears throughout the song sounds incomplete yet begins completion towards the end, once again, synthesizing music theory with DSBM. This ranks up to be a great instrumental not in the ranks of La Dryade, but it does provide numerous listening experiences.

Archgoat!

Over the past couple days I came to a conclusion that I do want to begin Airsofting, although to start off is quite pricey, it still became something that could knock off Embrace the Hate's importance. Despite Archgoat's headlining spot, I am surprised that Airsofting was actually able to last so long in my head. Thankfully, I have come to the conclusion that Airsofting can wait. It's been quite some time that I have had blood smeared across my jacket, beer on my boots, and a sore body, I think it's time to return with loads of cash to buy some merch. Like I've said before, Archgoat is a band that I would regret deeply if I were to miss their sonic ritual. Who can honestly say "No" to their filthy style of Black metal and not be mesmerized by Angelslayer's haunting growls.

Durian

Who knew that Durian can induce vomiting? I have always loved the flavor of durian in every form whether it'd be solid or blended, it's great. The scent doesn't bother me too much but it seems to bother some people enough to run to the bathroom and vomit.

Nightwish

I don't know why I like this song. His vocals aren't too great, the lyrics have no rhyming scheme, and the song itself sounds like a rip off of Last Samurai.

This song on the other hand. . . too bad Tarja isn't part of the band anymore

. . .

I dodged this once, but I guess I wasn't too lucky this time. I've taken too much for granted and I don't have the will to make a change. I held back my tears once, but this time, it was impossible to hold it back. While my dad is having trouble, I am here disrespecting him, yelling at him, and not even bothering to do FUCKING SHIT! I miss that bond we had when I was younger, and now, I miss it even more.
